Meet Anushka Manchanda

Meet Anushka Manchanda
Music happened to her pretty early in her life. Anushka Manchanda's mom and dad played a lot of rock at home so the song and dance was constant. She grew up playing the piano, a little bit of guitar and standing in front of the mirror singing "highway star" at full volume. Anushka says, "I thought it was so cool!"

In her final year at school, Anushka made it to Viva, India's most successful all-girl band from a nationwide search for the best musical talent in the country. She says, "It was fantastic." She moved from Delhi to Mumbai and soon her first album sold over half a million copies but then the group split. It was coming...

Later, Anushka jumped into music television, did her stint as a VJ on Channel [V] and soon started her solo singing career leaving the VJ job. Today, Anushka has dubbed with some of the hottest music directors in the industry - Vishal-Shekhar, Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, Pritam, Anu Malik and Salim-Suleiman.

Anushka Manchanda was given the Stardust Award in 2008 for her song 'Naughty Naughty' in the movie Cash. To this she says, "I must have said the word cool at least 7 times in my thank you speech."

She's gone from being a reality TV contestant (on Popstars) to being a reality TV judge (for Disney Channel's Hannah Montana Contest). Today, Anushka Manchanda sings, dances, entertains, performs and travels all across India & the world playing public, private & corporate gigs. Currently, Anushka is working on her own music album - Man. "I love my jobs," says Anushka Manchanda.
